Calvin J. Prillwitz

Calvin J. Prillwitz, 88, of Sodus, died Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, at Chapel Hill Methodist Church in Sodus, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Messages and memories may be shared online at www.bowermanfuneral.com.

Calvin was born Jan. 8, 1935, in Eau Claire, the son of Frank and Jeanette (Meyer) Prillwitz. He graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1953 with the distinction of Valedictorian of his class. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in 1957.

He married Margaret Rybecki in 1962 in Niles, and together they raised their family. Calvin worked for Peoples Oil Company as an oil delivery truck driver. In his leisure time, he loved to collect various things.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret; son, Bryan; two daughters, Diane (Gregory) Rhodes and Roxanne Prillwitz; three grandchildren: Dustin (Hannah) Lambrecht, Shawn (Nikki) Lambrecht, and Nathan Lambrecht; one great-grandchild, Rowan Wycoff; his sister, Shirley Peachey; sister-in-law, Louise Prillwitz; and many nieces and nephews.

Calvin was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Prillwitz.
