Christine Galtzew

We are sad to announce the passing of Christine Galtzew, of Eau Claire. She died at the age of 65 on November 15, 2022

Christine was a graduate of Eau Claire High School. After graduation she worked packing fruit and babysitting. Christine was finally able to obtain employment through the Crossroads/New Beginnings program that assisted the disabled. She was so proud to have worked 13 years at Glenlord Lumber in Stevensville until the business closed. Crossroads then became New Beginnings, and they placed her with Goodwill in Benton Harbor until New Beginnings closed the program.

Her hobbies and interests included family, macrame, crafting, movies, reading and crocheting, and she made sure every child born in the family had a crocheted baby blanket. She devoted her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, including her mother until she passed away at age 73.

Christine was preceded in death by her sisters, Lydia Choc and Antonio Petru; and her parents, George and Anna Galtzew.

Christine leaves behind her sisters, Claudia Kelley and Nadija Cuthbert, both of Eau Claire.

Per the request of the family, there will be no funeral or memorial service. A small celebration of life dinner with immediate family will be held. Messages and memories may be shared online at www.bowermanfuneral.com.
