Clifford A. Dohm

Clifford A. Dohm, 94, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, April 15, 2021.

Cliff was born Feb. 25, 1927 to Vaughn and Marie Dohm of Eau Claire, one of 12 brothers and sisters. He served in the US Army in Europe 1945-46, receiving a disabling wound and was honorably discharged. In 1950 he married Florence Zelmer, also of Eau Claire, and set up housekeeping in their home on Old Pipestone Road.

Cliff worked as a layout inspector for over 20 years for VM Corporation of Benton Harbor until the closing of the company. He then worked for several firms over the years, eventually retiring from Premier Tool and Die of Berrien Springs.

In his leisure time Clifford enjoyed working on his lawn and garden and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also had a special love of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing and sharing it with his son and grandson.

He is survived by his daughter, Debby Dohm of Eau Claire; his son, Allen (Chris) Dohm of Eau Claire; grandchildren: Deanna Dohm of Kansas, Clifford Dohm of Sodus, Stephanie (Mike) Glassman of Berrien Springs, Alyssa and Sarah Dohm of Eau Claire; three great-grandsons: Saske and Joshua Dohm and Michael Glassman; sisters: Helen Sanders of Niles, Reva Gonsalves of Florida, Betty Shembarger of Berrien Center; brothers: Stanley, George, and Earl Dohm of Eau Claire and Benny Dohm of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 61 years, Florence, in 2012; brothers: Arthur Dohm of Arkansas and Rodney Dohm of Eau Claire; and sisters: Esther (Bob) Sommers and Elnora (Arthur) Mattner.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, at Bowerman Funeral Home, Eau Claire, where visitation will be 4 – 8 p.m. Monday, April 19. Share memories at www.bowermanfuneral.com.
