Fredrick Gustave Whitman

Fredrick Gustave Whitman, 76, of Berrien Center, died Monday, April 6, 2020, at his home.

Fred was born December 10, 1943, in Benton Harbor, the son of Benjamin and Signe Whitman, and he was a lifelong resident of Berrien Center. He graduated from Berrien Springs High School in 1962, and he later became a school bus driver for Berrien Springs Public Schools. Fred liked being in the out-of-doors, and he enjoyed his family, especially all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Enders Whitman, whom he married March 9, 1962 in Niles; two sons, Roy Allen Whitman and Duane Arvid Whitman; his daughter, Melody Lynn Whitman; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his sister, Elizabeth Whitman Twite.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Loretta McDonald; and a brother, John Walter Whitman.
