Jerry Lee Powell, 66, of Berrien Center, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, surrounded by friends and family.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, at Bowerman Funeral Home in Eau Claire, where friends are invited to visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 20. Online memories may be shared at www.bowermanfuneral.com.
Jerry was born Jan. 5, 1953, in Niles, the son of Lendon and Alice (Coyle) Powell. He worked at Modar Inc. in Benton Harbor for over 30 years as a mechanical and electrical engineer. He loved to play with his grandkids, work on his antique vehicles, and play golf with his longtime friends. He also loved mentoring and sharing his love of golf with his grandson, Enrique. Jerry was a man of many talents and was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family and friends with any project.
He is survived by his wife, Nena (Ross), whom he married Oct. 29, 1971; his mother, Alice Powell; daughter, Bindy Powell-Latino (husband Octavio Latino); grandkids: Enrique, Ellee and Quinnton Latino; brothers, Larry (Miriam) Powell and Kenneth Powell; and sister-in-law, Helen Powell.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Lendon Powell; and his brother, Len Powell.
