Karen Jean Forrester, 54, was born the first daughter of Randy Eugene and Jeanmary Helen (Wagner) Case on April 20, 1967 in Benton Harbor. She died Nov. 19, 2021 at Chalet of Niles Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Niles.
Karen attended grade school and most of high school in Berrien Springs, and she graduated from Andrews Academy in 1985. The highlight of her youth was being crowned Miss Berrien Springs 1985 for Blossomtime activities. She loved being in the Blossomtime parade.
She worked for a short time at Meijer and Benton Harbor Post Office. She loved animals and had adopted dogs—she had a few Great Danes, as well as some who needed her as she needed them. Her most treasured relationship was with her sister, Mary, and even though they might have had disagreements, they remained very close to each other.
Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Mary, in 2020; her husband, Michael Ferris; and her companion, Gregory Forrester.
She is survived by her parents: Randy (Dee) Case of Eau Claire and Jeanmary (Robert) May of Ocala, Fla.; her brother, Todd (Carlie) Case of Eau Claire; and her niece, Briana (Josh Smith) Warner of Winchester, Va.
A memorial service will be held at at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, at Bowerman Funeral Home, Eau Claire. Friends are invited to visit beginning at 1 p.m. until service time.
