Kathy Ann (Lamb) Bishop, 68, of Eau Claire, passed away, with her family, at home, on the morning of September 22, 2021. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on April 2, 2021 and it is for this reason that she wants us to encourage everyone to get a simple blood test (CA19-9) for early detection of this very aggressive disease.
Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 17 years, Bob Bishop; children, Jenny Johnson and Chris Plomb; step-daughter, Kelly (Bishop) Karunakaran; grandchildren, Bray Plomb and Kinsley Plomb; and siblings: Dave Bescey, Karen Williams, Lance Lamb, and Patty Wagner. She will also be dearly missed by many other extended family members and close friends that were considered family to her. She was predeceased by her parents, Otis D. Lamb and Shirley (Neidlinger) Martin.
Kathy was born on August 17, 1953 in Niles, Michigan, where her love for riding motorcycles started as a child. This grew into a lifelong passion where near the end of her life, just hearing the sound of Harley Davidson pipes would put a smile on her face. She always dreamed of riding her bike out to Sturgis, South Dakota, and just before her 50th birthday she was proudly able to check that off her bucket list.
Kathy had a love of all animals, especially cats. She loved to dance (her twist was legendary) and have fun get-togethers with her friends. She was an amazing cook and always had the best family dinners. But the most important thing she will be remembered for was her heart of gold and the way that she would give of her time and help anyone in need. She touched so many lives throughout her years and made such a difference to so many. For this reason she was loved and adored by everyone who knew her.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2, from 2-5 p.m. at Bowerman Funeral Home located at 6635 E. Main St., Eau Claire, MI. A Celebration of Kathy's Life will be held on Sunday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. at Hope Community Church located at 2390 Lake St., Niles, MI.
