Margie Karn

Margie Karn, 77, of Eau Claire made her peace with God on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in St. Joseph.

Margie's life began on November 25, 1939 in Goshen, Indiana, the daughter of Herbert and Helen (Bass) Brooks. She attended Goshen High School and graduated in 1957. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Karn on July 25, 1959 in Goshen.

Margie worked for several years for Palisades Nuclear Plant in South Haven. Margie enjoyed her books, traveling, baking, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the Eau Claire Community Church where she was involved in Women's Fellowship and the choir. She also served for several years on the Eau Claire District Library Board and was a member of the book club.

Her loving family includes her husband, Ken, of Eau Claire; daughter, Kim (Terry) Hall of Keeler; sons, Ken Karn Jr. of Eau Claire, Chris (Kathy Phillips) Karn of Eau Claire; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her brother, Kenneth Brooks of Seattle. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may gather with the family from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, October 23, at Bowerman Funeral Home in Eau Claire, where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. She will be laid to rest at Caldwell Cemetery in Eau Claire. Memorial contributions in Margie's name may be directed to the Eau Claire Community Church or the Eau Claire District Library.
