Victor Leo Sells

September 11, 1942 — February 9, 2017

Victor Leo Sells, 74, of Eau Claire peacefully went to rest on Feb. 9, 2017.

Vic was the husband of Joyce Rumbaugh Sells, and father of Rory (Kim) Sells and Gale (John) Rue. He was happily married to Joyce for 54 years.

He was born Sept. 11, 1942, in Benton Harbor, the oldest of eight children born to Robert and Marian Sells. His brothers and sisters include: Judy (Oscar) Smith, Nancy (Jerry) Scoma, Allen (Judy) Sells, Cheryl(Laurel) Green, Lewie (Jan) Sells, Steve (Denise) Sells and Sandy (Ben) Mendoza. He was also a brother-in-law to Janet (late Carl) Harris, and a loving friend to Margaret Swisher.

He was a kind and gentle man with a heart of gold. Always willing to lend a hand or give wise words of advice. He had a love for John Deere tractors, and was a member of the Two Cylinder Tractor Club of Berrien County. He was owner of Vic Sells Backhoe and Bulldozing for a number of years and was well known in the community, a lifelong resident of Berrien County. He would often lend a helping hand to his son, Rory, owner of Pro Tech Plumbing, and was also the smiling face of many deliveries for his daughter Gale’s local store Edible Arrangements, Benton Harbor. He saw the good in everyone and his bear hug was one not to be forgotten. A loving husband, and supportive father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Victor is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Rory (Kim) Sells of Eau Claire, and Gale (John) Rue of Stevensville; grandchildren: Nicholas Schlipp, Ryan (Allyson) Schlipp, Jamie (Nicholas) Schultz, Adam Sells, Aaron (Kaitlyn) Sells; and eight great-grandchildren: Maycie, Shelby, Landon, Mattie, Brooklyn, Carter, Lexie, and Lainey.
