Evelyn J. Brooks, 92, of Eau Claire, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at home.

Evelyn was born April 22, 1923, in Nappanee, Indiana, the daughter of John W. and Alma B. (Johnson) Lapham.  She was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Jack D. (June Miller) Brooks Jr.; three daughters: Lillian K. Demler of Eau Claire, Mickey (Kenneth) Sipress of Benton Harbor, and Charmaine Brooks of Eau Claire; seven grandchildren: Pamala (Michael) Fecho, Steven Brooks, Scott Brooks, Debra Brooks, Perry Demler Jr., Cindy (Brian) Brinker, and Eric Sipress; one step-grandchild, Shon (Ronnie) Stewart; 10 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Brooks Sr.; her parents, John and Alma Lapham; a son, William “Bill” Brooks; a great-granddaughter; two sisters: Wilma Perry and Iva Vail; and three brothers: Raymond, Roy, and John Lapham.
