James W. Cheatham, 60, of Eau Claire, died Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Bowerman Funeral Home, Eau Claire, with burial following at Caldwell Cemetery. Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at the funeral home, and share messages online at www.bowermanfuneral.com. Memorials may be made to Friends in Faith Community Church or to the family.
James was born Feb. 15, 1959, in Winter Haven, Fla., to Jerry and Myrtie (Sheppard) Cheatham. He worked in maintenance for Michigan Die Casting in Dowagiac. In his leisure time he loved to fish, camp, and be outdoors, and his hobby was mechanics.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra (Lineberry) Cheatham; sons: Tony (Katrina) Cheatham of Battle Creek, Ryan Cheatham of Benton Harbor, Dustin (Linda) Stilwell of Detroit, and Scott Cheatham of Sodus; daughter, Amber Cheatham of Buchanan; stepchildren: Eric Voit and William Voit of Eau Claire, Chris Voit of Benton Harbor, and Matthew Voit of Niles; 18 grandchildren; brother, Allen Cheatham of Alabama; three sisters: Myrtie “Sue” Geoghan of Ray City, Ga., Leona Pagan of St. Ignace, and Theresa Cheatham of Eau Claire; stepmother, Betty Cheatham; and his best friend, John Lineberry.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
