Leonard George Hudson

October 26, 1950 — August 18, 2025

Eau Claire

Leonard George Hudson, a cherished father, papa, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, in Stevensville, Michigan. Born on October 26, 1950, in Berrien Center, Michigan, to the late George and Huldena Hudson, Leonard's life was a tapestry of dedication, love, and jovial spirit that touched everyone he knew.

Leonard's early years were spent in the nurturing company of his parents and siblings. After graduating from Eau Claire High School, he bravely served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War, a period that taught him the virtues of courage and resilience. Following his military service, Leonard embarked on a fulfilling career as a truck driver, a role that suited his love for the open road and allowed him to form countless friendships along the way.

Family was the cornerstone of Leonard's life. He was a loving father to his daughters, Tami (Corey Flagel) Hudson and Heather (Jesse) Theobald and his son, Adam Hudson. His six grandchildren, with one more on the way, brought him immeasurable joy, and he embraced his role as a doting Papa with open arms. Leonard's family circle included his two surviving brothers, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, and he also carried the memory of his beloved deceased brother and two sisters close to his heart.

Leonard's passions were as diverse as they were spirited. He was an avid fan of racing, often found in the stands at Hartford track. His eyes alight with excitement during NASCAR as he cheered on his favorite driver, Tony Stewart. His love for sports extended to football, where his loyalty lay divided between the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears. Leonard's love for the outdoors was evident in his anticipation of rifle hunting during deer season, a time when he felt most at peace with the world.

A man who never knew a stranger, Leonard became everyone's adopted dad, offering a helping hand and a warm smile to anyone in need. He was exceptionally handy, and his best friend Rich, who passed a few years ago, often joined him in the garage, where they spent countless hours working on cars. Even after Rich's passing, Leonard continued to tinker in his garage, finding solace in the memories and the work they both loved.

Leonard's legacy is one of unwavering love and generosity. His ability to make connections with people from all walks of life, his infectious laughter, and his willingness to go out of his way for others are qualities that will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. As we bid farewell to Leonard George Hudson, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart full of love, and a spirit that will continue to inspire us for generations to come.
