Maureen Ann Paulin

May 17, 1951 — March 6, 2026

Eau Claire, Michigan

Maureen Ann (Peterson) Paulin, a beacon of warmth and nurturing love, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at the age of 74, in Eau Claire, Michigan. Born on May 17, 1951, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Maureen's life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to family, friends, and an enduring faith.

Gifted with a heart that recognized the joy in simple pleasures, Maureen was known for her love of games, particularly card games like pinochle and spades, where laughter was as important as the play of the cards. Her Christian faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's challenges and celebrations, and it was the light she shared with everyone she encountered.

On February 2, 1974, in her hometown of Grand Rapids, Maureen married her soulmate, Frank Paulin. Their union was blessed with love, happiness, and the gift of children. Together, they built a family rooted in compassion and joy, a true reflection of Maureen's caring and nurturing spirit. She cherished her time spent with her children, and as a testament to her love for kids, Maureen dedicated much of her time working in daycare settings and as an attentive caregiver to many.

Maureen's working life included meaningful service as an administrative switchboard operator in a hospital and was complemented by the skills she mastered with an Associates in Business from Davenport University. Her commitment to her work was secondary only to her dedication to her family.

The Paulin family chain, while seemingly broken with Maureen's departure, remains resilient and strong as she is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Frank Paulin; her children, Kevin Joseph Paulin, Nicole Evon, and Frank Mearl Paulin; 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces nephews, and special friends, and her dear son-in-law, Ray Grostick. Maureen also leaves behind a legacy of sisterly love with Kathleen Minor, Colleen (Ed) Mahrenholz, and Laureen (Jim) Brown.

Though Maureen is now rejoined in spirit with her parents, Mearl and Jerrivine (Hale) Peterson, and daughter, Karen Annette Grostick, who preceded her in death, her memory and the lessons of her life remain a guiding force for all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her captivating smile, her readiness for a spirited dance, and her unfaltering kindness are etched into the hearts of everyone who loved her. Maureen lived a life rich in experiences and abundant in love—a beautiful, enduring legacy that will continue to inspire and comfort us all.
