Throughout his 58 years, Michael epitomized qualities such as intelligence, handiness, and a captivating personality that touched many.
He grew up nurtured by the love and guidance of his parents, James and Judy (Short) Wymer. Michael was a devoted father to his three children, Matthew Wymer, Heather Strickland, and Amber Wymer, all of whom brought great joy and pride into his life. His role as a grandfather to four was one he cherished deeply, his wisdom and strength flowing through to the next generation.
Michael's siblings—Jamie Wymer, William Wymer, Michelle (David) Bradshaw, and Nichole Kniebes—remember him not only as a brother but as a lifelong friend, their bonds strengthened by countless shared experiences and lessons learned alongside one another.
Professionally, Michael dedicated many years as a Kiln Operator at Leco Corporation. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident to all who worked alongside him. His vocational achievements, however, were paralleled by his artistic endeavors. Michael's passion for painting was not just a hobby but a calling. The Mendel Center at Lake Michigan College stands as a testament to his skilled hand and keen eye, the walls graced by the touch of his brush—his legacy etched in color and form.
A man who loved fishing, Michael found solace in the quiet ripples of the water and the patience required to make a great catch. Those who knew him recognized his strong will, often revealed in his endeavors and his measured, contemplative demeanor. An interesting individual indeed, Michael communicated volumes in his silence, while his drawings and paintings spoke the words he rarely needed to voice.
Michael Wymer was not a man who sought the spotlight, but his innate intelligence and quirky charm drew people to him. He could fix nearly anything, a handy skill that served him well both in his personal life and in his interactions with friends and community. To be in Michael's company was to be in the presence of someone truly special—humble yet impactful, quiet yet profoundly expressive.
A funeral service will be held for Michael on Saturday December 6 at 11:00 AM at Bowerman Funeral Home in Eau Claire, Michigan. A public visitation will take place an hour before the service. Burial will follow the service at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Sodus, Michigan.
