Patrick Roy Vicini

December 23, 1950 — September 20, 2025

Eau Claire

Patrick Roy Vicini, a hardworking man who found joy in the fields of his farm, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, in St. Joseph, Michigan—just miles from where his journey began in Benton Harbor on December 23, 1950. He devoted his life to farming and to the community of Eau Claire, MI, living each day with dedication and quiet strength.

Pat's favorite pastime was not confined to the fields alone; he was an avid supporter of basketball, with a spirit particularly for Notre Dame Women's Basketball. His love for the game saw him as a common figure in the stands at local high school games and Lake Michigan College matches, always cheering and encouraging young talent. He found joy in the outdoors whether it was hunting or simply checking on his fields.

He leaves behind countless memories treasured by his beloved daughters, Wendy Vicini and Penny (Dean Shembarger) Vicini. He also held a special fatherly role in the life of Billie Jo (Everett) Leitz, whom he loved like a daughter. He is survived by his grandchildren, Autumn (Carston) Akins, Ali Nelson, Leighton Sherwood, Hailee Leitz, and Ethan Merrill, as well as three great-grandchildren: Barrett, Trenton, and Ryatt. He leaves behind two sisters, Valerie Keller and Georgette Lord.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Roy and Lucille Vicini, and his sister, Theresa Murphy.

Pat will be remembered for his generous heart and the countless ways he showed up for others. He found true joy in lending a helping hand, whether to family, friends, or neighbors in need. Along with his giving spirit, he carried a bit of orneriness and a colorful vocabulary. It was this combination of kindness and stubbornness that made him unforgettable to all who knew him.

Pat’s life was defined by hard work and a deep love for his family. He showed this through the laughter and encouragement he shared. His legacy lives on in the fields he cared for, the stands where he cheered, and most importantly, in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Though he will be deeply missed, the strength of his character, the generosity of his spirit, and the memories he created will continue to inspire and guide his family for years to come.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a Dementia Foundation of the donor’s choice.
