Renda Faye Brown

Renda Faye Brown, 78, of Sodus, MI passed away peacefully at her home on September 22, 2023.

Born September 29, 1944 in Chicago, IL to Robert and Alma Cochran. While attending Benton Harbor

High School, she met her high school sweetheart Lynn Brown. They married on November 17, 1961 and

welcomed three sons.

Renda was a member of the community of Christ church in Benton Harbor where she loved singing and

praising her Lord and Savior. She was well known for her phenomenal cooking and was an avid reader

who shared that love with her granddaughter. Spending time with family was one of the most important

things to her. She loved attending sporting events for her children and grandchildren and watching her

great-grandchildren play together. She spent many years working alongside her husband running the

Sodus Coal Company and doing sexton work for the local cemeteries.

Renda was predeceased by her parents, her husband Lynn and sons Bruce and Jeff. She is survived by

son Bryan (Bonnie) Brown, siblings Joann Pottoroff, Marlene Smith, and Robert (Connie) Cochran,

grandchildren Ashley (Guy) Cornell, Justin (Heather) Brown and Brandon Brown, great-grandchildren

Evelyn, Makenzie and Charlotte Cornell, Owen and Liam Brown, Daughters-in-law Missy Brown and

Tracy (Leonard) Stachowski. Along with many other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at Bowerman Funeral Home on Wednesday September 27 from

11:30am-12:30pm with a graveside service at Mount Pleasant cemetery immediately after. An open house to

follow the graveside service at Sodus Park.
