Samantha Marie Blankenship, 19, of St. Joseph, formerly of Eau Claire, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 25, 2017, at home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, at Bowerman Funeral Home, Eau Claire, with burial following in Caldwell Cemetery. Friends may visit from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, at the funeral home, and online messages may be left at www.bowermanfuneral.com. Memorial donations may be made to the Berrien County Animal Control Shelter.
Samantha was born October 9, 1997, in Berrien Center. She graduated with honors in the Class of 2016 from Lakeshore High School. She had her own retail farm-fresh egg business, “Samantha’s Eggs”. She enjoyed photography, especially taking photos of waterfalls. She loved animals of all types, riding dirt bikes, and hiking.
Survivors include her parents, Robert and Susan Lausch of St. Joseph; grandparents, Doug and Sally Dupuie, Don and Sally Blankenship, and Roberta Luttke; godparents, Steve and Holly Magin; two brothers, Justin and Kyle Blankenship; two stepbrothers, Issac and Isaiah Lausch; nephews, Thomas and Logan Blankenship; and many aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel “Hoss” Blankenship on April 5, 2008; her grandmother, Debra Dupuie; and her great-grandparents, Robert and Juanita Tanke.
