Stanley Alan Bishop

Stanley A. Bishop, 81, of Berrien Center, peacefully went to rest on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Riverridge Rehabilitation and Health Care Center after a lengthy battle with dementia.

Stan was born April 26, 1942, in Berrien Springs. The eldest son born to Rex D. and Edith (Arnt) Bishop. His brothers include Roger (Charlene) Bishop and Robert Bishop who survive him.

Stan was the husband of Patricia (Odiorne) Bishop for 60 years and father of Michelle (DuWayne) Mills and Lisa (Daniel) Witters who survive him.

He is also survived by grandchildren; Travis (Sierra McFarland) Landuit, Lauren (Brandon) West, Emily (Brendan) Christ and Alayna Witters.

He was a kind, gentle, and often fun-loving man. Frequently lending a hand to family and neighbors. Following high school, he spent many years employed at Skinner’s Body Shop in Eau Claire, becoming very talented in auto body repair and frame straightening. During that time, he passed his “know how” to many that are still in the field today.

After retiring from Skinners, he began restoring antique tractors. His talent was very appreciated by many collectors. He was also a skilled carpenter. Building the family home while learning plumbing, electrical, and masonry during the process.

Memorial Services to celebrate Stan’s life will take place Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 3 p.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior at Hope Community Church, 2390 Lake Street, Niles, MI 49120.

Stan was a loving and supportive husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather and his legacy of love will continue to live on in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
