Velma Jean Morgan

Velma Jean Morgan, 78, of Eau Claire, died Jan. 19, 2022, at Spectrum Health Lakeland in St. Joseph.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at Bowerman Funeral Home, Eau Claire, where friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 11 a.m. until service time. Velma was born April 1, 1943, in Berrien Center, the daughter of Clyde and Mabel (Bielby) Benson. In addition to caring for her family, she worked in fruit processing. She liked to spend time visiting with friends and family, singing karaoke, listening to music, and she was always helping anyone in need with a ride, food, money, or a place to stay. She put herself before others. Velma loved her family and family get-togethers.

She is survived by two sons: Jason (Jacqueline) Morgan of Berrien Center and Stephen (Erin) Morgan of Cassopolis; two daughters: Johanna Morgan of Eau Claire and Tammy (Hubert) Whitehead of Berrien Center; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Larry (Christine) Benson of Berrien Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; two brothers; and six sisters.
